About the event
Want to know what goes into managing elite Australian Rules players with a lower limb injury. The unique relationship between the athlete and their medical team. The challenges of managing an elite athlete. Then this is your lucky day.
SMA and Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia (SEPA) are pleased to announce new dates for the upcoming joint event “Integrating the management of the foot and ankle into the Medical Model for Australian Football”.
Hear from the people who work at the coal face of AFL with Darryn Sargant (Fremantle Dockers Podiatrist), Renee Kennedy (Fremantle Dockers Physiotherapist), Dr Jonathon Charlesworth (Fremantle Dockers Sports Doctor) and Fremantle Dockers AFLW player and physiotherapist Leah Mascall.
The 90–minute presentation will consist of a short presentation by Sports Podiatrist Darryn Sargant on managing the AFL player from a podiatric perspective followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. This collaborative panel will address the complex role that healthcare providers play in managing the foot and ankle in elite AFL players.
The event will be MC’d by Matthew Keating.
