About the event

Handwriting & CO-OP: Putting Evidence into Practice! 1 hour PD online Zoom webinar event for therapists & educators working with children who are struggling with handwriting!  Presented by Assoc. Professor Elspeth Froude (PhD)

We all value how important the skill of handwriting is for literacy development and this webinar will be covering putting latest evidence-based research into everyday effective practice for handwriting instruction and intervention.

The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance Approach™ (CO-OP) was initially developed to use with children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD), (sometimes known as dyspraxia) and is now best practice for children with DCD. It has also since been shown to provide successful outcomes for children with a range of diagnoses who find motor-based skills difficult to learn or re-learn.

It is a child or client-centred, performance-based therapy approach with the potential to benefit many children who struggle with everyday living tasks like handwriting, dressing, using cutlery, playing musical instruments, playing sport etc.

As well as discussing what the CO-OP approach is, in follow-up to last year’s hugely successful webinar, this time Elspeth will also be sharing more details regards putting existing research-based evidence into everyday handwriting therapy practice for aspects like pencil grip/grasp, letter reversals etc, which I am sure you will find so beneficial and invaluable.

It will be suitable for newcomers who didn’t attend last year and also those who attended last year who are interested in learning further from Elspeth regards current evidence informed practice. There will be a PD certificate made available this time for all registrants.

Look forward to seeing you there – webinar will also be recorded and made available to all registrants to replay unlimited times for a set period of time afterwards.

It is only $27.50 per ticket, please see all other details in the below Eventbrite link
