Focusing on Legal Considerations and Why Clinical Supervision?

May 16, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

In the excitement of gaining work, the importance of negotiating terms and conditions of employment, a job description and the legal significance of signing a contract can be overlooked. It is also necessary to know about the legal side of this work: how to make a mandatory report; how to document your notes in case they are subpoenaed; how to write a court report and why clinical supervision is crucial for best practice.

This workshop offers tips and advice to prepare for respectful negotiations of workplace conditions as well as outlining legal aspects of this work around note-taking, report writing, the use of images in court and the handling of subpoenas.

About the presenter:

Annette Coulter is a registered art psychotherapist, clinical family therapist, published author, and practicing artist. She is an accredited PACFA supervisor  and an approved ANZACATA supervisor and also provides training in interactive drawing therapy (IDT). Annette has taught art therapy in Australia and overseas and specialises in working with children, adolescents, families and couples. Through private practice she provides clinical art/s therapy supervision, education, consultation and customised training. She is co-author of The Introductory Guide to Art Therapy, (2014).
