About the event

This is a FREE webinar by Injury Matters

Persons with dementia are two to three times more likely to fall compared to persons without dementia. Therefore, older adults with dementia can be considered a high-risk group for falls. An understanding of risk factors for falls among this population is required so that health care professionals can develop effective falls prevention strategies to reduce the negative impact of falls on an individual’s quality of life as well as the economic burden of treating falls in their workplace/clinical setting.

Join Injury Matters for the Dementia Enabling Environments for Falls Prevention webinar during Dementia Action Week as Nick Seemann, the Senior Environment Consultant at Dementia Training Australia, joins us to discuss the dementia enabling environments project.

This webinar training aims to give you:

  • Increased knowledge of dementia and its effect on fall risk in older adults
  • Increased awareness of risk factors for falls among older adults with dementia
  • Increased awareness around barriers and strategies for engaging older adults with dementia in falls prevention strategies.
  • Increased confidence to identify falls risk factors among older adult clients with dementia.
