This webinar organised by APS – Psychology of Intellectual Disability and Autism Interest Group – NAT will provide an understanding of how CBT can be adapted for the unique needs of young people with ID and used as an effective intervention. Additionally, the webinar will provide a better understanding of the components of CBT and how to use the materials in a way that is most clinically relevant for this population.

Learning Outcomes

1. Learn ways to adapt traditional CBT for the unique learning needs of young people with mild to moderate ID;

2. Learn to adapt cognitive restructuring to meet the cognitive needs of young people with mild to moderate ID;

3. Understand how to provide CBT for young people with ID in both group therapy settings and individuals consultations.
